Great Northern Battery Systems

I pulled the battery out of an old CT Eliminator Power Box then called GNB and asked about getting a replacement. I told the fellow on the phone the voltage, amp-hours, size and original manufacturer's name. I was told that there were 2 possible replacements but he couldn't be sure until he actually saw the old battery - regardless, the price would be $90 tops. So down to Parkdale I went and after trying a few different doors, I eventually found the back entrance. The person I spoke to told me that they do not have any batteries that match the amp-hours, only one that was 4ah lower than the one I needed. While the battery I was offered, was the correct dimensions, the prices was 50% higher than what I was quoted - $135 instead of $90, I could either take it or leave so I left. I really tried to support a local business but not at a 50% premium.

Best place for batteries lowest price great people and service.

Needed a group 27F battery for my Lexus. All the usual places I go like Costco or Walmart do not have it. This place has one for $120, which is MUCH cheaper than the going rate of around $160! They didn't even charge me a core feel and told me that they're using the honour system of me returning the old battery! If you're a less honourable person you can get like at least $10 by dropping off the old battery at the scrap yard! Will be going here from now on for all my battery needs!

Great Northern sell the Odyssey motor sports batteries that are amazing! I bought one from them for my Kawasaki Teryx4 in 2015 after the factory battery needed a boost after 2 months . The Odyssey 925 battery has worked flawlessly for 7 years. It has never been on a battery tender and ALWAYS started. Even in the middle of winter when the bike hadn't been run for months it always had lots of power. It has never once needed to be boosted. I just got a new 2022 Teryx4and replacing the factory battery with an Odyssey is the first thing I did!They are expensive batteries but worth every penny especially when you are 30 kms in the bush with no cell service!

Better prices than big box stores, but they do pressure selling.

What a great place we have here in Hamilton. Anyone can come here to purchase a car battery or AA, AAA, C or D. Or 9v very helpful and friendly staff.

Second time here and they were magnificent. 6 stars if I could add it. They even lent me the tools to switch out my old car battery. Took me longer to write this review than change the old battery.2 months before I needed 2 12 volt 20AH batteries and Carl and Harold helped us out - They were amazing. I’d come back here any day. And thoroughly recommend them. Service beyond normal.

Best place in town to buy vehicle batteries, top products at the cheapest prices.

I guess this is formerly acme battery on parkdale. Good prices like usual, service was OK. You have to walk around back to a garage door to what looks like some guys garage filled with skids of batteries. They have an equipment door that's wide open and people are walking through it freely instead of using the man door. Hazardous and unsafe practice to allow this behavior, if an equipment door fails that's a potential fatality. Very sketchy way to enter a business.
