This is one of the best knife store in Toronto. Staffs are very knowledgeable and friendly. I came at least one or two times per month because there always something new and unique coming.

A great experience!From the moment we walked in to the time we left we felt welcomed and important. Tyler listened to what we were looking for in a kitchen knife, and being our first Japanese knife, he made some valuable suggestions.We appreciate everything they did for us and we plan on going back soon to add more pieces to our collection.

I can't believe I've never reviewed this place. Five stars all the way! The new location is gorgeous, be aware the old location is now a Turkish towel shop or something.The fact that they let you test cut the knives on carrots is what separates tosho from the other boutique knife store in Toronto. Being able to tell the slicing and sticking action side by side is priceless.Tosho, please bring in more chuka bocho, that is my favorite style and I want to give you more money.

This is my favourite knife store. The staff are all very helpful and they don’t pressure you to buy anything. They just bring out knives you want to see, and let you chop carrots. The carrots do not lie. Every time I’ve gotten a completely different knife than I walked in the store intending to buy - because I knew how they all actually felt cutting vegetables.This is the best place to make an informed decision on a great knife.

Today I came into Tosho without the expectation of buying anything. As I entered, I was politely greeted at the door by Tyler. He proceeded to ask me questions to help me find the knife that best suit my needs. He was happy to answer all my questions with great knowledge and experience supporting his answers. I ended up leaving with a beautiful knife that will last me forever as well as an amazing experience, meeting amazing people. 10/10

The experience at Tosho is nothing like other knife stores. You really get a hands on experience with the equipment before purchasing which I haven't seen anywhere else. Their selection is great and I would say their prices are more reasonable than other Japanese knife stores in Canada. Something that is also unique about them is that they have more budget and beginner friendly Japanese knives for people just starting to dip their toes into the game. The staff are super helpful and will accommodate your needs whether you are a knife newbie or a pro. Their new location is very nice too. Drop by and treat yourself to a new knife.

Tyler and the staff were incredibly welcoming, friendly and professional. I know nothing about knives and they walked me through everything I needed to understand without pressuring me to buy in any way. I was able to get in & out quickly with exactly what I was looking for. And what a great hands on experience.I left with not just a great knife but confidence knowing that Tosho is there when I need service or advice in the future.Would highly recommend!

Best place in the city if you’re looking to step up your game with a Japanese knife. Knowledgeable staff showcase a curated selection of hand made knives in both stainless and carbon steel options. Tyler and staff have always been professional and courteous tailoring a unique experience based on my current needs/interests. Highly recommend!
