ish & chips

Visited ish & chips in Bridgeport today. Before I even get to the food, let's talk safety. Ontario hit a record number of COVID cases today and the only precaution taken at ish & chips was two pylons placed in front of the truck. Both owners on the truck did not wear face masks and did not have any sort of barrier between the customer and the cashier. A customer in front of us with no mask or social distancing etiquette was able to order, pay, and collect their food without either owner asking them to put on a mask. Customers are required to walk right up to the truck to pay, regardless of paying with cash or tap. From my experience, COVID safety precautions are not taken seriously here.We ordered 2 pieces of fish, fries, and a side of coleslaw for $25. Portion sizes are smaller than expected for $25, especially with the fish. After ordering we waited half an hour for our food to be ready, which seemed like a long wait as the truck wasn't very busy.Now for the food itself. The fish was poorly cooked. The batter was thick and very greasy to the point of being soggy, could be that the oil wasn't hot enough? Part of my fish was tough and chewy, which I hadn't experienced with fish and chips before. We were also only given a very small container of tartar sauce for two pieces of fish. The fries were fine, but nothing to write home about, they didn't seem fresh cut or anything. The coleslaw was a plain mayo version, not bad, not great.All in all, not a good experience. The food itself is not worth the risk you're taking by visiting a food truck with such inadequate COVID safety precautions.

Overall, an okay experience. The whole experience felt rushed and unpleasant. The price was outrageous for the small portion you get. The fries were basically like eating frozen grocery store fries. The service was not inviting enough to want to come back a second time.

I have been wanting to visiting for some time and I was not disappointed! The Fish was fluffy and great ratio to batter. The coleslaw was creamy and fantastic! The fries had a nice flavour also! Hreat to support local and I will be going back for sure.

Fish batter was great, fish nice and flakey good flavour. Fries not fresh cut but precut (likely frozen) FYI and they do put an aromatic herb on the fries so again if your a purist then now you know :)

The fish is nice and flakey (inside), but the batter is soggy and the portion is small. The fries are crispy with a nice herb flavor. The prices are on the higher side. There was handling of money then food and no masks. There was no tartar sauce.

Overpriced, fish was soggy, fries were frozen. They don’t even season their fries with salt… or make their own tarter sauce. Like come on you are a fish and chips restaurant and you use packets of tarter sauce…

Fish and chips were tasty but WAY TOO expensive for what you get. I paid 22.00 for two pieces of fish and some fries. Not worth it. Way too expensive for what you get period. I will never go back and suggest the same to all of you.

Very very disappointed fish was soggy and the fries are frozen. And 50 for 2 people not worth it at all. I'll never go back again.

Spent 17$ but not satisfied. They serve fries instead of chips . Fried Fish is not for 7$ is not worth. The place is cute . They can do much better given they have limited things in the menu.

The prices shocked me. Maybe that's why they werent very busy. But in an effort to help these businesses, I decided to purchase. It was a small plate. But what made it worse was after making my purchase, the owner went back to sit in her driver's seat and file her nails! It's an open truck which means on windy day like today that all ends up all over the place and likely in the food. But seriously, who the f files their nails while working with food!?!?!?!?!?
