Gong Cha Whitby

Got the royal milk tea with pearls, 50% sugar and no ice. It was not as flavourful as other milk teas but it was okay bubble tea for Durham region. Tapioca was small and cooked. Would go back as it is one of the few bubble tea places in Durham. Atmosphere was great and there was no line up.Update: ordered the oolong tea through DoorDash as suggested by the owner however the drinks did not come with tapioca even though I ordered it with tapioca. Very disappointed. Called the store and no one was picking up.Update: the store called me back and apologized. They offered me a free drink then next time I come in. I appreciated the care for customer satisfaction.

It’s nice to have a great bubble tea place in Whitby. I believe this is a fairly new location and I was extremely excited to try it out. It is located near many other great restaurants and grocery stores so I knew it was bound to be good as well.The day I went was not very busy and the inside was very clean and well kept. Although there weren’t many people inside, I could see a lot of Uber eats and people ordering online therefore I knew this place was good. They have many flavours to try from the menu. Both hot and cold bubble tea drinks. This place does not just stop at bubble tea, I believe they also sell waffle cones too which look absolutely delicious. The bubble tea comes in two different sizes large and regular (shown in picture). The prices are fair for what you get. We got a large taro milk tea with tapioca and a regular brown sugar oolong tea with tapioca. Both drinks were simply amazing and made to perfection. It was on par with some of the other great bubble tea places I have tried in the past. The service was really great. The staff worked fast to make the drinks and were super kind. During the time I went, their credit card machine wasn’t working (it was no one’s fault) and therefore they only accepted cash. I read past reviews of people saying they have experienced slow service but it was nothing as such when I went. The service was great.I will definitely be back to try their other drinks from the menu and also order the waffle cone. I highly recommend everyone to check this place out as I believe it is worth trying.

I recently had a disappointing experience. Despite being one of the first customers, it took a frustratingly long 30 minutes to receive my taro drink. To make matters worse, the staff seemed to prioritize complicated orders that arrived after mine. It was disheartening to see my simple order being neglected

I checked Gong cha out recently and was very pleasantly surprised to find the Starbucks of all the bubble tea places in Durham - finally! The staff was so wonderful, willing to accommodate me when I called for curbside pickup so I wouldn't have to wake my baby to grab my order. I was glad he woke up anyway so I could check out the ambience and full menu. I love their vibe and offerings. It's great when you can get a snack to go with your bbt. I also enjoy good packaging, which they also covered! They even had a cute little bubble tea Keychain souvenir you could purchase. Easily the most instagrammable bbt place in Durham.About the bbt and eats: they were yummy! I got the least amount of sugar but still enjoyed the flavor. The egg waffles were a bit on the sweet side however and I would recommend skipping the pearl waffle gimmick - you barely enjoy the Boba and it just makes the waffle soggy! After pictures and eating my dinner, the original waffle still held up but the pearl one was a balled up soggy mess that collapsed into the cup.I read some reviews saying this wasn't as established of a location as other Gong Chas, so I would be interested in checking out others and returning to this one.

Been here a few times. Service with a smile. Bubble waffles are so good. Drinks are a great treat too. Bit of a wait but with only one person working at the time but it’s understandable. This isn’t a mall location, just for soccer moms and the like with small volume so I get it. I recommend the Taro smoothie, brown sugar bub tea, and bub waffle

Horible hirible horible... took so long to get the drink.. was out of green tea asking to substitute for different green tea. Didn't want to make the bubble waffles when ordered. This store is on fire.. not impressed need new staff customer service is very bad.....I want my money back ....

I tried Gong Cha with friend and we absolutely loved it. We’ve been ordering it on uber eats but we finally visited the store.The store was so cute and aesthetically pleasing. The store was also big compared to other boba shops.My friend ordered the original waffle ice cream and double favour ice cream. I ordered the brown sugar coconut milk tea.9/10 - Service (only because we had to wait over 20 minutes for the waffle ice cream)9/10 - Environment9/10 - Food/treats10/10 - parking (easy to find parking in the plaza)

Bought from this place 4 times since I moved to Durham. All good experiences. The drinks & waffles are excellent ! I never have to wait too long. The staffs are nice too. Highly recommend.

It's pretty good hipster place with very young vibe .They have wide variety of drinks and have a pretty big place to sit ,relax & enjoy your drinks .
