Always, and I mean always...the cleanest and tidiest Foodland out there. Bar none. The greeting staff are affable and friendly - and people forget that they are standing there, giving you a washed down cart - to protect you from COVID. So take the cart, and say thank you. The store is always full of fresh food, great meats selection and the largest, most delicious sandwiches I have seen in my entire life!!

For a small town store, it is well stocked.

Always clean. Bright. Fresh veggies and fruit, nice selection of baked on site goodies. Cashiers and staff are awesome!Sandra is always a pleasure to deal with when I need the delivery service. The only thing that is concerning is the prices. As a disabled adult on fixed income, I can't buy much here any more. I wait for good sales and point incentives or mark downs. But everyone is affected with inflation and post covid situation.I love this hometown store, and will continue to shop here as I'm able!

An ok sized grocery store in the area with decent variety of products. Some products are a little pricier than others (like bottled water), but there are some decent deals (like ice and firewood).Staff is friendly. Parking lot a little chaotic during busy times.

I divide my time between Madoc and Toronto. I have also shopped in many, many grocery stores over the years. So, I can say with experience that the Madoc Foodland is an exceptionally great grocery store. For a small store, it carries all the brands I buy. The prices are reasonable, and there are always great specials. The store also carries great local products like O'Hara Maple Syrup (the best syrup on the planet). And the baked goods made from the small bakery are better than homemade. But what makes Madoc Foodland truly exceptional is the staff. Every single staff person working there goes the extra mile and are extremely friendly. I know if I can't find a product, all I have to do is ask one of the staff stocking shelves where it is, and they will always greet me with a smile, stop what they are doing, and kindly guide me to the place where the product is on the shelves. The cashiers are also amazing. I appreciate how they'll put a piece of tape on my dish detergent, so that it doesn't spill or they'll put an elastic band around my egg carton, so it doesn't open. I don't know anyone on staff personally, but I am always greeted with friendly small talk and banter (a shout out to Russell, who always makes me smile) by everyone I encounter. If there was an Olympics for grocery stores, I'd give the Madoc Foodland a gold medal.

As Sandi M writes, all true.A very cool find in the deli, not dairy, section I've come to understand with the help of Rhonda. On occasion you will find some Artisan cheeses of the finest tastes. Paul, a dutch chesse producer, from Blyth Cheese Farm, makes all their cheese from local either goat or sheep's milk. Their rhind is edible and simply delicious on all their products. If the Queen Bee is in stock, what's not to love about the combination of sheep's milk and honey. Subtlety blended with a taste not what you'd expect to find in a country store, where most of the cheeses you'd usually see are the basic chedders, and mozzarellas. One of Ontario's finer Artisan cheese brands. Thanks Rhonda for bringing Blyth Cheese into the hood!

Would you like some rotting produce, always? Expired garlic sooo rotten that it had no garlic left inside, on the shelf for months? Would you like surprise expired goods? Would you like the cheapest stuff that’s being over charged? Would you like the worst selection? Brown meat that says it was packed “today?” Well this is the place for you! Come waste all your money at Madoc Foodland. The old owner was so great but since the new ownership a few years ago, this place is the WORST.
