Chew That

Very knowledgeable and welcoming!

Chew That is my go to pet store and anyone that knows me, knows I am one of those really neurotic and hyper careful and invested pet moms.What I love about this store:- The friendly environment that welcomes you like family- The sourcing of and focus on natural products and holistic approaches- The mindset of sharing and exchanging knowledge, recognizing that, with pets, there are so many different sources and forms of information.I especially love the store owner, Renee, and how much time she takes to try to brainstorm and troubleshoot, combining her knowledge with your familiarity with your pet. When my dog had issues with low/compromised immunity, Renee suggested bovine colostrum, which actually resolved a lot of the issues that he was suffering from (allergies, papillomas in his mouth). She also had great suggestions for maintaining my dog's oral health, so that I'm able to keep his teeth nice and shiny white after a dental appointment. And, I've also gotten great recommendations for chews, other immunity boosting super foods, allergy-friendly foods, etc. Not to mention that their ice cream (for humans!) is delicious.My cat has also gotten great products from Chew That. Most recently, we were recommended the new Tofu litter. I got it on a whim, and was kind of skeptical that it would actually work but... I love it. It clumps super well (even better than clay based), is lightweight and doesn't smell bad, and BEST OF ALL, no dust. Brilliant.And, on the fun side: my dog and I took two training programs here (Scent Detection and Dog Fitness). Both were incredible AND we still do all of the exercises and training, a year later. I also got my dog a phenomenal doggie BIRTHDAY CAKE from Chew That last year (and I plan to get another one this year of course) and it was excellent. Made from all simple, natural ingredients in house, and such a large size that we shared with every doggy we knew and then froze some after. It made the event feel so special and fun.

This is truly an excellent spot to get high quality Canadian (or other) made dog and cat treats, food, and more. Everyone we have met here have been very friendly and knowledgeable, and all their recommendations have been huge hits with our kitties. It has become my favourite spot for all sorts of cat treats and food, not to mention they sometimes have really great little samples to take home! The dried fish my cats are munching on in the video were produced by the owners and I’m hoping I can get some more!

People here were so friendly, I only came to do a delivery but the atmosphere and kindness alone wanted to make me give a nice review
