I had the great pleasure of meeting Cheryl today at the Bloor location of Hudson's Bay Optical. I'm sure I tried on 50 pairs of frames. Cheryl helped me to hone in on the shape that best suited me, and from there, some different options to consider. She was patient, knowledgeable, and fun. I also had help from her manager, Dot, who also provided great guidance. The two of the are a great team! I ended up purchasing glasses I love, and am very happy that I ended up at Hudson's Bay Optical.

I’ve been going to Hudson’s Bay Optical at Yonge and Bloor for more than a decade, initially, because it was close to the ad agency where I used to work, but now I actually go out of my way to get my glasses there because of their registered optician, Vijay. He’s fantastic. He’s far better than I am at choosing frames that suit my face. Their wide selection of brands and frames at every price point actually makes it harder for me to know what to choose! Vijay, however, knows immediately which frames I should try on, then he helps me narrow down the choices, making sure that what I choose fits me perfectly. But what really amazes me is how he treats my budget as if it were his own. He compares different scenarios to figure out how to get me the best value for my money, usually saving me hundreds of dollars in the process. Yet somehow, he does it without cutting corners! (The progressive lenses he recommended last time were nothing like the ones I’d bought at a discount optical shop on Queen Street West years before. They produced NONE of the disorienting distortions that had turned me off progressives.) Vijay knows what he’s doing and he’s terrific to deal with. Knowledgeable and patient, helpful and professional, he’s meticulous when taking measurements and practical when making recommendations. I’ve never enjoyed that kind of service at an optical shop before. Elsewhere, I’ve felt pressured or ended up hating what I’d bought. That has never been my experience at Hudson’s Bay Optical. Kudos to management for hiring (and hanging onto) the best optician I’ve ever dealt with.

I was at the Hudson Bay Optical today and I had the pleasure of dealing with one of their well experience staff Vijay. It was my first time getting glasses and I was all skeptical and nervous of where too go, what to get without going over my budget and without being overcharged for glasses. Well as soon as I walked in Vijay was so prompt in coming to assist me. I told Vijay my situation and he said not to worry he will help me and he really did. He gave his expert advice on how to start without pressure or being impatient but was calm and very informative. He devoted his time in truly helping me . He helped me choose the ones that suited me he did all the paperwork explaining along the way every step .just the way Vijay dealt with me the customer I was confident and very happy with my choice for glasses. I left with two pairs of glasses and spent almost $1000.00 but I was well informed and knew it was worth every penny. Vijay is very good in customer relations, he is very knowledgeable about glasses and knowing the right choice for each customer ensuring the right fit and measurements while always meeting the customers needs and budget . All the paperwork was done efficiently. I would highly recommend Hudson Bay Optical to anyone looking for glasses and highly recommend Vijay he enjoys his job, he is dedicated to it and with that he believes in truly ensuring the customer is happy.Lisa

Very happy with the service and prices at this Hudson's Bay Optical. I took advantage of their everyday special and got a pair of single vision lenses with frame for $99. Cheryl was helpful throughout the shopping/insurance claiming process and gave me tips on finding glasses that fit my face. Will be a returning customer :-)

Great experience here. The staff is very knowledgeable, helpful, honest and they ensure that you get the best deal possible on your prescription frames. They helped me pick out the best looking glasses that suited my face shape and budget. I was able to get both regular prescription glasses and sunglasses for a great price. Not pushy in terms of sales at all, but extremely helpful and the selection is surprisingly good. It’s nice because a lot of the options are unique at Hudson’s Bay Optical, as its not a huge chain....so you know you’re not just getting the run of the mill glasses you might find online or at bigger chains! I highly recommend checking out this location specifically :-)

We booked an appointment to shop for prescription glasses before going in and the gentleman on the phone was really nice and accommodating. Yet from the moment we entered the shop the only female employee didn't welcome us nor asked us about out appointment instead rudely asked us what we wanted. When we finished browsing and wanted to discuss lenses and pricing the lady made us wait 20 minutes from our booked time so she could attend to another customer with whom she was just chatting about their lives. When she finally came over to help us she was rude again and not welcoming at all. We decided to leave because we did not want to give our business to someone who has such bad customer service. If you cant attend to pre-booked customers on the time of the appointment then please dont book these appointments.

I just got my new pair of glasses today, Cheryl was very helpful, I took my time searching around through different styles of glasses. Cheryl was very patience about me, professional advice given too. Normally when I switched prescriptions I felt really dizzy and it will take a long while for me to adjust. When I got my glasses here I adapt to it instantly. Thanks Cheryl for the time to take measurements and made my experience here so pleasant! Thank you again and will definitely recommend it to my friends too!

Terrible service. A reluctant salesperson (who I had to ask for help) was so rude. unhelpful and rushed that I wondered why she was working in an optical store. Had every intention of upgrading my glasses. but was so turned off that I ran and will never go back. This person should be replaced with someone with at least some basic customer service skills and good knowledge of lenses.

Worst experience ever. Selected frame & ordered glasses that were supposed to be delivered within a week. They had 1 plus 1 free offer going on, this is a scam!! The free eyewear they gave was worth less than $20 in the store front of them. And the moment they get to know your insurance is paying they spike the cost. My bill was $335 including glasses, later I realized the same frame online with way better glasses costs less than $200.3 weeks of multiple follow-ups, when I asked for refund – they said only $99 would be refunded (out of $335) & when they finally delivered it after a month, guess what, they fixed glasses to the same dirty demo frame that was there is the store for wonder how many years (I recognized the marks & dirt print all over it & just to confirm I asked them to show me the demo frame & it was not there!). In the land where weed is legal, they kept saying glasses were stuck at customs!!Long story short - Do not trust anybody in this store. Sick
