The Wednesday Room
The basement of the Wednesday room has an awesome retro vibe. We were looking forward to it for our pre dinner cocktails and appys before a main meal elsewhere to celebrate our anniversary. The staff was kind enough to move us from upstairs to downstairs upon request as we really wanted to be in the dim, retro space. Our waitress was super friendly and attentive, the cocktails were good and the roasted carrots and hummus appetizer was so good we are still dreaming about it. This would be a great spot for a business lunch or first date. If youre eating, avoid the wing back chair seating if you can, they were a bit too sinky! Previous visits with booth seating were much more comfortable for eating. Just love the feel of the place and the food and drinks are perfect too!

my top favourite of the chef-driven bars in Calgary, and I tried many during my travelsswoon for that sixties vibe!real care and knowledgeable craftmanship with the cocktails beautifully and simply stylishly presentedand food, little twists from a base of solid technique, perfectly seasoned, and so deliciousyummity yum yumand the through film theme is the icing on top

Service 5.5 - our lovely server originally from pine lake was very kind and welcoming. She knew a lot about the menu and just made us feel good with her warm personality.Ambiance 4.5 - really nice room. Loved the vibe and the carpet design!Cocktails 3.5 - didn’t like the “bats in the sky” but the fifth element cocktail was good.Food 4.25 - shareable and really good in both presentation and taste. Mushroom toast was #1 by far. Brussels were good but not superb. Had a couple other dishes as well that were certainly in the 4 to 4.5 star range.Would love to go back some day.

A swanky place to enjoy the finest. The menu is built around sharing. We had the fried chicken, which was excellent, and the tuna and the scallops were great. This place pays attention to flavours. The cocktails were refreashing and went along with the 1960s home decor.

Service: 5/5All the servers are extremely attentive and lovely.Food Quality: 4/5Food is really great quality, fresh and very savoury. A little sweet for my taste.They had the appetizers out in 7 minAnd the mains out in 30 min.Ambience: 5/5Excellent for fancy date nights or anniversaries. The decor is modern/ vintage.The greens, browns and greys colour scheme with the amber lights and neon sign in the front gives it this modern yet warm vibe.

Incredible experience from start to finish. Host, server, and even their social media person are incredibly kind and friendly. Cocktails were fresh and tasty, our server guided us to the perfect choices.We shared the tomato toast, the aguachile, and the fazzoletti, all were outstanding.In general, I like to try new places, rather than returning to the same one, but I’ll be back here…..Probably sooner than later.Thank you Wednesday Room.

I had no idea what to expect since I'd never heard of it. We did a girls' dinner on a Monday evening.First impressions? Atmosphere was awesome. Loved that the main dining was in the basement surrounded by bare rock walls. The decor was spot on with their website description. I remember that uncle from the 70s! Everything here looked retro and chill, right down to the exact same carpet as The Shining. Google it, it's exactly the same lol.Food tasted delicious, portion sizes are perfect, and the sharing style service is great for trying a variety of menu items.We had the fried chicken, cauliflower, carrots, and Brussel sprouts. Plenty of food for 3 people. I also had a gin cocktail called Bat Wing (or something about bats). Loved it.Great service and experience overall. I can't remember our server's name, but she was really good. Attentive but also knew when to leave us to our non-stop ladies chatter.Overall I would definitely recommend this place.

Such a beautifully decorated bar (inspired by the Shining) with a very cool, cozy vibe. Excellent cocktails and service and very tasty shareables! I loved the tomato fritters - they were May fav. The tuna tataki was also very good. I’d highly recommend for a date night or drinks with the girls.

Great vibe. The design is reminiscent of a supper club and just makes you lose track of time. The shishito peppers are amazing. Highly recommended.The Bao buns were also very good but I could have used a bit more pickle.We were also pleasantly surprised at the value for money.

Amazing atmosphere and drinks! Staff is extremely helpful, nice and polite. Shareable dishes can serve well the number of people they tell you they do. Cocktails are something else and they even feature a non alcoholic dealer's choice if you ask for it. Would 100% recommend.
