Hard to get to by foot. But a nice place to visit at least once. Getting there by foot is best done down the train tracks till you get to the bridge. You can also access the lake by small motor-less boat via the boat launch down Jenkins road. Most of the lake shore is private.

DIRECTIONS:Coming from Parksville, turn right on Aulds road and keep driving straight until you get to the train track.Coming from Victoria, turn right on Aulds road and keep driving straight until you get to the train track.Once you get to the train tracks, find a spot to park your car and keep walking on the tracks until you get to the lake.
