The support and accommodations that have been made for us as we adopt a special needs dog has been incredible. The RVT’s and shelter manager have been so accessible and knowledgeable which has allowed the adoption to be so well facilitated in a timely manner. Thank you to the team.

Awesome place to adopt a pet! Staff are kind and caring with the animals and friendly with customers. We have adopted 2 dogs from this location and both times have had great interactions and support from the staff. If you can, adopt don't shop! Would highly recommend this location.

Our now departed, much-loved cat Fig was only six months old when we met. He'd been on his own as a street kitten.How he survived so well on his own is a mystery.In spite of his rough start, Fig had a fun, friendly, mellow, affectionate personality and a motor like purr.Fig had a wonderful carefree life with us and the sudden heart attack caused his departure far too soon.On Fig's first visit to our vet, the vet had noticed that Fig was born with a heart murmur and asthma. How the previous vet didn't hear it is unknown.We spent literally thousands of dollars keeping Fig going as long as possible.Thank you, Oshawa Animal Services, for putting Fig's image on your website. His presence in our home was a joy every day.

I've had such a wonderful experience that I wish everyone wanting to welcome a new furry member into their home could do so through such a wonderful, kind, courteous group. Thank you for everything you've done to help us along the way!

I dropped off a little guy Jacks as he wasn't wanted by his owner. I couldn't keep him as I have four of my own kitties. I didn't want to see him be dinner with the coyotes around my place. Anyone who wants a cuddle bum you'll have it with him! He has such beautiful marble tabby markings!

My cat was rescued when she snuck out. They looked after her and went the extra mile. When my other cat died I brought him there to be cremated. They have a very affordable rate, elsewhere was very pricy.

My dog broke out of a fenced yard for a fun filled evening and was then incarcerated. (Not unlike his owner) They made sure he was taken care of and were very friendly once I posted bail

This is one of the best animal shelters around. Their staff take care of the animals like they are their own. They put their heart and soul into their work. I have adopted two dogs from them since 2022, both who came from heartbreaking circumstances. My German Shepherd/Pyrenees mix who I adopted in March 2022 was abused is now a therapy dog with Therapeutic Paws of Canada. We just adopted a best friend for him who was found abandoned and emaciated and is an absolute sweetheart. I have never rescued dogs before them, always used a reputable breeder. I never imagined the absolute joy my rescues would bring to my life and to others. We are extremely lucky to have such a wonderful shelter in our community.

I have had the pleasure of meeting the wonderful staff that make this place home" temporarily to so many animals in need. The dedication is second to none when trying to find animals their forever home. The care and genuine love the staff have for these animals will melt your heart. Well done to all of the staff as OAS!"
