Garland Bay Recreation Site

First time back since childhood and the memories really hold up. Beautiful views, about 20mins from town, quiet and cozy. Pebbly beach with easy access shoreline that is clear of reeds, perfect for swimming in the crisp water. Stayed for 5 nights this time, and absolutely loved it. Skies were sunny and clear, nice fishing spots, and a few little hikes. Variety of excellently-maintained tree, beach and open sites, with very few mosquitos, and was lulled to sleep each night by the sound of the nearby creek. Highlight of the trip was definitely the camp host Matt. An actual gem of a human. Very kind and thoughtful, he put hammocks around the sites with book bags so you could relax and read in the shade. Walked around with his dog Laska (an angel in dog form), making sure everyone was happy and chill. Stopped in to have coffee with us a few times and chat, and asked everyone for feedback on how to improve for next year. I'll always recommend this camp. You have to go.

One of the most scenic Summer recreation spots on Kootenay Lake. Garland Bay is paradise for paddle sports, swimming, fishing, lakeside camping, spectacular Kootenay Lake vistas and vivid sunsets. It is quiet in the Spring and Fall, but can be very busy during the Summer months. There are North and South camping sections separated by a creek mouth and a central area of private property. One of my personal favorite spots on Kootenay Lake.

A hidden gem with a great beach, day use and camping sites, boat launch and friendly camp manager. Can't say enough about the amazing views. With 22 sites this park has something for everyone, from a 40' luxuey motorcoach RV (a surprise to see parked there, to 30' trailers, campers, tent trailers, many of which are literally parked on the side of the beach. Facilities on site.

Great spot, no issues with camp host who was business like and helpful.

Just took a drive out to see what was here. Nice camping area North area right on the beach.

The site opperator (Matt) loves this site and it shows. Beautifully maintained, laid back atmosphere, and spectacular views. I have no hesitation in recommending this site. Thank you Matt! This won't be our last visit.

The camp host Matt was great, very friendly, personable. Very clean campsite, and amazing touches he put into this campsite like hammocks with bags of books to read. We'll definitely recommend this site, and will come back again soon.
