About the Business

Home - Durham Outlook | Durham Outlook for the Needy is a non-profit organization started in July 1990 by a group of dedicated Oshawa residents, striving to help those in need in the Durham Region. They chose the patronage and example of St. Vincent Pallotti (1795 to 1850) who dedicated his life to helping the poor and under privileged. With the help of over 900 volunteers each month from churches, numerous organizations and individuals, Durham Outlook for the Needy can provide nutritious daily meals in a dignified manner restaurant style.

Immaculate condition, a brand new outreach that's seriously making a difference. The meal is astounding and very well balanced. Finally, a place that genuinely fills up the stomach of anyone in need enough to appreciate the help. The meal is volunteer based. Whether you can donate or not isn't important, you'll still be happily served regardless of helping the charity and it's cause. Every table is immediately wiped clean after each meal, server's are Angelic like eloquent about the provisions, polite, and incredibly accommodating, and the atmosphere is actually quite peacefully calming, with gratitude on once hungry people. This is a necessary resource that enables a person to nutritionally function, regardless of their circumstances...i can only hope that more units of affordable housing are offered to rent, even if temporary transition, and that eventually, there'll be no reason for a person to be without a roof, without simply, a normal home. Thank You for giving Durham Outlook...

I think that the same Vincent kitchen It's a Wonderful organization they give you a a choice of salad , a bun ,a hot or cold drink or both . three-course meal and choice of dessert .these people just come in and work in a hot kitchen making wonderful meals for people that don't know each day with a smile on their faces. And usually a few words if you need somebody to talk with it's just how it goes there's wonderful wonderful people to do that each and every day a different Church a different group is in there cooking a wonderful meal for people that otherwise had children may have an empty belly to go to sleep with one more night God bless you all you're just wonderful keep up the good work there is lots of people that think you're just fantastic because you are

The place is welcoming, clean, and great for the community. It's awesome what they do and hope they can continue doing it. I volunteered here with a couple of friends and it was an amazing experience. We met amazing people (except for one crazy guy) and I hope I can volunteer again.

Very warming experience. Meals are only a $1.50 and its usually fully loaded with meat, potatoes, vegetables, salad, and soup of course. Many people go there to get a good delicious meal. Bread shelf makes it easy for the poor and needy to get bread and treats. Usually they have free stuff for you to take home. The staff of volunteers are excellent so we all must not forget what patience is when we go there. After all the volunteers are people too.
