The day center is the best. Offers great social/recreation opportunities. The staff are amazing and it’s always a friendly and safe place to go and hang out. They have free coffee and lunches for members. There are opportunities to do boxing, bowling, swimming, walking, tai chi, yoga, painting, puzzles, cooking/baking, short psychosocial programs, etc. There is something for everyone. Bingo is always well attended, and the best part is that we get to choose our prize (anything from dollarama). There’s no wait list to go to the day center. I did have to wait for other services from them but it was worth the wait. I don’t know what I would have done without them. I know I’d be in a much worse off place with my mental health. I’m not sure why ppl are commenting negatively, but it’s important to remember that this isn’t a therapy service, also, these workers have multiple clients and cannot drop everything for someone. I’m positive that if someone was having an issue with their worker, their managers would be more than helpful in solving any issues. All in all, I’m so thankful I have these programs and services in my life, they are a huge part of what is keeping me going.
