Choi House Special Chicken

The food is good, but the portion of the shredded chicken has shrunk so much!1 to 2 years ago, one chicken gets you a rectangular box loaded with shredded chicken for around $15. It's $25+ now and you only get a half size squire box and NOT even loaded…The worst part is, the owner still claims the amount has not changed, just the size of the box.

Flavourful chicken

It seems the owners (elderly couple) have decided to cut down their serving portion of salted roast shredded chicken over rice. I used to eat this signature dish of theirs for lunch once a week at least. For $10.00, I found the shredded chicken meat was tender and tasty (although leaning towards the salty side) and portion was generous.But when I went there today to order the same dish, I found the serving portion of the shredded chicken has gotten way less but with the same amount of rice and a few pieces of vegetables placed on top of the rice to make it look like more. The price has not gone up and they still charge $10.00 per dish but portion of chicken meat has definitely been cut back.After eating it, I was not full ((I used to be full after eating the same dish).If increasing food cost is the issue, I'd rather them go slightly up on the price than to cut down on the serving portion of the chicken meat as return customers will not be satisfied for sure (I doubt new customers will return as well). In a competitive lunch market in the various Asian Malls in Richmond, this is certainly not a wise way to run a business. Personally, i told myself today I will not return to this place anymore as I feel I am not getting the value for money anymore.

Their speciality chicken rice dish actually taste soso good.I originally came here because the other store at ackroyd closed, but I didn’t expect this place to be this tasty. 100% coming again

They offer many traditional home cooking. I can not find anywhere like this. A lot of people have highly recommended. You must to try!

$30 for this. The owner said it is a whole chicken without bone. I think it over priced

I dare say this is the most authentic and delicious salt-baked chicken rice I have ever had in Vancouver. Although this snack shop is small in size and the signboard is not conspicuous, the standard of salt-baked chicken can be said to be the highest in Vancouver. The salt-baked chicken in this store has very firm skin, and the chicken is tender and does not have a strong chicken flavor" (since most chickens in Vancouver have not undergone bloodletting treatment

Taste good just a little too salty but lots of chicken lots of rice for 15$. Rice is a mixture of plain rice and soy sauce favoured rice.
