A friend told me to come here to get some wood for a project I was working on. I went in and asked for some hardwood shorts, likely maple. They asked what my plans were and told us not to buy maple as it doesn't stain well, and showed us some good alternatives, no upselling or anything like that as they were the same price, they just made sure we had the best thing for what we were doing and were happy to talk it through and give us all the info we needed. We will absolutely be back as they gave us great service, didn't rush us at all, and they have a huge selection of wood!

This place AND the owner(s)/Employees are just simply amazing! I have recently started getting into woodworking as a hobby, needed some advice and some products, and stumbled onto this place in an online search. Well..it has been fantastic! Len and his employees are so informative and eager to teach others how to use the products and wood. They keep no secrets on how they build such amazing and beautiful furniture. I actually feel guilty already because I feel that they are giving up a lot of information to someone who isn't ordering a piece, but is simply trying to do it on his own. I purchase supplies and products from them and they are always helpful with showing how to use them correctly. They even give sample products to try!! I will never go anywhere else in Calgary for anything regarding rustic furniture and wood products. I totally recommend this place to anyone looking for beautiful, artistic pieces of wood and rustic, live edge furniture! Thanks Len and gang. I greatly appreciate all the help! Tried to support a local shop in Okotoks to build a beautiful rustic mantel for us. They gave us a two month window and then in the crunch leading into Christmas prep, they provided us with a product not remotely close to what we ordered. Frustrated, disappointed, and in a panic, we went to see Len at Refined Rustic Furniture. He helped us design and then built such a beautiful mantel and we installed 2 days ago, less than 2 weeks after our order. Len is quite simply a pro at what he does, great attention to detail, and offers great guidance and suggestions. We couldn't be happier with our finished product. If you need anything designed for your home, check them out first. You won't be disappointed.

Did some research on commissioning a custom desktop for the home office. The process from beginning to end was fantastic. Appreciated the effort in the design phase to come up with ideas and explanation on the woodworking process. We decided to put some dried flowers from our wedding (17 years old) in the desk with clear epoxy. It matched well with the natural wood colours. Made it unique with an understated look. Could not be happier with the end result. The only thing I would recommend is to be clear with timing on when you need the item finished. We were pretty relaxed on timing and it ended up being delivered later than expected. Partly my fault on communication of expectations for the completed project.

We were looking for our forever coffee table. We knew what we wanted and knew the dimensions that would fit the space the best. We visited countless furniture stores, and while what they had to offer was lovely, all of the tables we looked at were not quite what we were looking for--or a tad" to expensive. We instead opted to build a custom table and we are so happy with the end result. The price was very affordable

Len designed and crafted a beautiful king size headboard with built in side tables from African Black Limba wood. The piece is gorgeous and is the focal point in our room. Len’s attention to detail and craftsmanship is outstanding! We would highly recommend Refined Rustic Furniture for any “one of a kind” wood projects.

We had some poplar rounds with great sentimental value, that we wanted to be made into tables. We were so fortunate to find this company as you could feel that they took pride in helping us with something so special. This is a family run business that I am so happy to support. Our first visit was with Len and his wife, who were so lovely and helpful. Vanessa and Jason continued to work with us through the project and made their expertise available, which was so greatly appreciated. Vanessa went above and beyond to ensure we were happy with the final product, and always replied promptly anytime I contacted her. This family is truly talented and we loved working with them. In fact, we ended up using them to make us a bench AND a new desk…which speaks to the quality of their craftsmanship and customer care:)

Just wanted to share some photos of my dining table project, made from the rough live edge Douglas fir slab that I purchased from Refined Rustic Furniture. Dimensions 98X 47" X 3". Almost everyone who sits down for dinner is shocked when they realize that it is a single piece of wood. I finally found a home for the burl log I found 10 years ago on a beach in the Yukon. Thanks to Len for the epoxy

Our contractor recommended Len to construct a custom mantel (which he would later finish) for our home renovation. We met with Len who walked us through a selection of different woods and finishes. We were so impressed with what we saw that we asked Len to construct and finish the mantel. I would highly recommend.

Fantastic selection of lumber at great prices. Picked up some Festool products. Len was awesome letting me try out some of his sanders. Finally decided on a Rotex RO125. and it did a great job finishing this cutting board. Then sealed with some food safe Osmo Top Oil. (He has a great selection of Osmo oils in stock)
