In 2009 we signed up for a five year term storage contract with Canadian Cord Blood Registry (now the Canadian Cord Blood Biorepository) thinking it might be good insurance against unforeseen childhood illnesses. We figured that after five years, if all was good, we would just not elect to store the cord any longer. Our contract had a fixed cost and a fixed term clearly stated up front.When our contract term was up last year we received an invoice with renewal options. Since we weren't planning to renew, we simply ignored the invoice. Since then the Canadian Cord Blood Biorepository has continued to send us invoices. When we finally sent an invoice back indicating we were not interested in any additional storage services they send us the attached letter (I will try to attach a copy).In our view, it is unbelievable that they are demanding a notarized letter signed by both parents and $110 in order to terminate an ongoing storage contract that we never entered. The tone of the letter is bullying and reminds me of the high pressure scams that you sometimes encounter on the internet or telephone demanding immediate payment for something with the threat of additional unavoidable costs if you don't comply immediately.I do not recommend using this company, as their behavior with respect to our expired contract makes me suspect they would be less than up front if it ever came to having to use your stored cord blood.We have no intention of sending them a notarized letter or the $110 they are demanding.

I just had the best experience here! I was so nervous to donate for my first time and from the minute I walked in the staff was so so sweet and made my donation go so well! That walked me through everything, made sure I was comfortable and were really quick :)

We have use this company for two different cord blood transactions and found them to be fair and communicate well.

Great experience from all the staff. It was my first time and they are very good to explain all the details and help through the entire process. It was very busy this day so the schedule was behind about 30 minutes or so which meant we had to wait outside in the queue. Dress warm if it's a cold day.I can see why people do this on a regular schedule. Other than the time it takes, the whole process is simple and painless. I find getting my yearly blood sample taken more uncomfortable since they are replacing 3-7 collection tubes.And the snackies! Well, to sit on my butt for 10 minutes and get rewarded with juice, Kind bars, and chips?? C'mon! I see why my dogs are so well trained now.

J'ai une interdiction à vie de donner du sang au QC parce que j'ai habité plus de 3 mois en France entre 1980 et 1996. J'avais déjà donné il y a 4 mois. Ils m'ont appelé demandant une nouvelle donation. Je m’y suis promptement en utilisant ma seule demi- journée payable offerte par mon employeur pour du volontariat. Santé parfaite, jamais des DSTs, même blonde dans plus de 20 ans, contage d'hémoglobine parfaite, examen de sang de ma 1ère donation sans remarques, mais… selon la Santé Québec, toute la population française ou anglaise (oui ça s’applique aux anglais aussi) entre 27 et 46 ans est interdite de donner du sang. Malheureux pour ceux qui ont besoin.

My husband and I know this cord blood bank through a friend and came to consult twice. We visited their lab and found out the price. The service is very good and the price is very good. We are seriously considering saving a cord blood supply for our soon-to-be born baby.

182 donations, mainly plasma. Repeatedly I have an appointment, fill out the questionaire, get a QR code, drive to the clinic and than I get this why are you here. I say have a confirmed plasma appointment only be told I don't know why you came because it has been cancelled. This has been going on for years, eventually I decided this was unacceptable and stopped donating. Considering the alternative paid clinic. The money isn't the issue as it is very modest, I only hope an appointment is actually appointment.

I've used this company for both of my children and paid a lot of money! Everything would be fine, except the company is no longer responding to my calls or emails. I got through once back in April and spoke the their rep. She was very unfriendly and stated they work from home due to covid-19. She told me to send an email request and I will get their response back. That was back in April, not it's July and no one got ever back to me. I am seriously worried about my money and what's happening with my storage...
